Our level system is designed to categorize licensed technicians based on their skill, experience, and overall proficiency. Higher tiers represent more advanced technicians who are capable of executing complex designs utilizing intricate techniques, and demonstrating a higher level of expertise. Advancement through the tier system supports continued professional growth and encourages ongoing career development.
PRICING STRUCTURE
Pricing varies by technician level, with higher-tier artists delivering an elevated level of skill, precision, and artistry. These technicians are equipped to perform more intricate, detailed, and specialized nail services, reflecting their advanced expertise.
APPRENTICE
0-1yr Experience
Apprentice Technicians are newly licensed professionals or individuals with limited experience in a salon environment. They are actively developing their skills through Musa’s structured training program, which includes formal education, hands-on practice, and ongoing mentorship from owner and Level 1–5 technicians. All Apprentice Technicians are licensed and qualified to safely perform the services they offer, adhering to all required safety and sanitation protocols. As they continue to refine their technique, clients should be aware that service times may be longer and overall execution is still developing compared to more experienced technicians. Apprentices currently provide standard gel manicures, gel pedicures, and simple nail art designs, often working under supervision to ensure quality and continued growth. LEVEL 1 - BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE
2+4yr Experience
This level is divided into two tiers: Beginner and Intermediate. Both include technicians with salon experience who meet Musa’s required safety protocols and service standards.
Level 1 – Beginner technicians have completed all required onboarding and training benchmarks and are approved to perform core services. Services at this level may require longer appointment times, and results may show minor inconsistencies in application, structure, retention, or overall strength as skills continue to develop.
Level 1 – Intermediate technicians consistently meet standard service timing and demonstrate improved application, structure, and retention. They are able to perform foundational services with minimal oversight while continuing to refine technique and expand into more advanced work.
LEVEL 2 - ADVANCED
5+8yr Experience
Highly skilled technicians with established clientele and significant salon experience. This level includes individuals who are beginning to specialize, or are actively specializing, in advanced techniques. Technicians have met all Musa prerequisites across practical, educational, and creative standards. They demonstrate consistent technical execution and have developed recognized strengths within specific areas of specialization, reflecting a more refined and focused skill set.
LEVEL 3 - EXPERT
9+12yr Experience
Senior-level technicians with extensive experience, a strong reputation for high-quality work, and a well-established clientele. This level may include artists who offer specialized or advanced services. Technicians meet and often exceed Musa standards across technical, educational, and creative benchmarks. They demonstrate advanced proficiency across a wide range of services, products, and techniques, and consistently apply evolving industry practices within their work. This level reflects a high degree of consistency, technical range, and professional maturity, serving as a key step below Musa’s highest tier.
LEVEL 4 - MASTER
12yr Experience
The highest tier represents elite technicians with extensive experience, advanced specialization, and a distinguished reputation within the salon.
Master technicians set the standard across all Musa benchmarks, consistently delivering exceptional technical execution, refined artistry, and expert-level service across a broad or highly specialized range of techniques. They demonstrate deep knowledge of products, structure, and design, and are often recognized for their signature style or area of expertise. This level reflects the highest degree of skill, consistency, and professional distinction within the Musa brand.
